for FORTRAN List Processing Language.

Package of FORTRAN subroutines for handling lists. They were developed initially for automatic geometry theory proving at IBM in 1958 by Hansen, Gelernter, and Gerberich.

Implemented some of the notions (and terms) from IPL-V (which they termed Newell-Shaw-Simon memory - NSS), but in a more directly representational manner

Weizenbaum's program Eliza was first implemented in FLPL.

"A set of subroutines added to FORTRAN in connection with work on geometry theorem providing" (Sammett 1966)
