It permits a nonprogrammer, who is familiar with the contents of his file, to fill out a few simple, questionnaire-like forms and easily produce a special report from that file.

The user's manual, and the accompanying case book, uses hypothetical case studies to explain how the three Wick Qwery input forms are used. The user's manual contains the text, the case book contains the illustrations.

Qwick Qwery Form 1 is used for selecting, sorting, analyzing, and reporting data. Forms 2 and 3 supplement Form 1's capabilities. For example, if an analyst wants to define new attributes in terms of existing attributes - perhaps as the ratio of two attributes, or the sum of several attributes - he does so with Form 2. He can then select, sort, analyze, or display this newly defined attribute, via Form 1, exactly as he did the attributes stored in his file. If for any reason, the analyst wants information to be displayed in a layout different from that which Form 1 automatically provides, he specifies this on Form 3, the Custom Layout Form. In conjunction with Form 3, he still uses Forms 1 and 2 to select and sort information, or define new attributes in terms of old.
