THE BRAIN(ID:5267/the004)for The Harvard Experimental Basic Reckoning And Instructional Network renaming (?with features?) of TOC II Places Related languages
References: In 1968 the TOC system was renamed THE BRAIN (The Harvard Experimental Basic Reckoning And Instructional Network). The most recent status of THE BRAIN is described in a Primer, Ruyle (1968), and a user's Reference Manual, Winiecki et al. (1969). In July 1969 THE BRAIN was operating at Harvard on an IBM 360/65 which had replaced the IBM 360/50. There were four terminals with keyboard and 10-inch Tektronix (611) storage scope (Figure 2) running simultaneously under the OS operating system. An additional terminal connected to the same computer is planned at Harvard Business School, and two terminals for running under their own machine are to be installed at McGill University in Montreal. in [ACM] ACM Computing Surveys 2(4) Dec1970 view details |
