Abstract: International epidemiology and ad-hoc clinical studies are often duplicated or poorly implemented, due to difficulties reusing existing studies and the lack of open study design tools. PreQL (Pre-Query Language), a prototype based object orientated study description language, promotes intuitive safe reuse of extensible verified studies and components, good study design and management, and the application of formal methods.
