Abstract: A versatile method of simulation, which dispenses with the use of special simulation languages, is described. Subroutines are supplied to allow commonly needed simulation requirements to be handled in a host general purpose language. The method is modelled on Extended CSL and is estimated to be about as powerful; yet it is substantially faster in execution, uses less memory, requires no special compiler, interpreter or pre-processor and does not require the simulator to know any programming language other than the general purpose language.
