Theoretical sub-language of ALGOL 60 with extensions to permits extensions, inspired partly by MAD and SDC's Fortran 63, created by Perlis and Geller while at the MC on sabbatical.

The Galler and Perlis paper is a milestone in the establishment of a logic of extension - a large number of possibilities are still not taken up by contemporary languages.
